Learn About Buffalo Overland from US and Canada

10 Years of Expert Guiding and Counting

From Silicon Summits to Rugged Ridges: My Journey to Becoming a Trusted Digital Nomad Guide

In 2006, I landed what I believed was the dream job at Cisco Systems, embarking on an 18-year journey that took me across the globe on countless business trips. My life became a whirlwind of airports, hotel points, and business meetings, yet amidst the success, I realized there was something missing. That realization hit me during a routine flight from Boston to San Francisco, as I looked out over the vast expanse of the Grand Canyon. The stunning view stirred something deep within me, igniting a passion for exploration and a desire to share the beauty of the world in its rawest form. This epiphany was the catalyst that would eventually lead to the creation of Buffalo Overland.

While at Cisco, I played a significant role in product development across various business units, gaining experience in everything from startups to acquisitions. I thrived on driving innovation and team building, contributing to groundbreaking projects that exemplified the principles outlined in Geoffrey Moore’s “Dealing with Darwin." Despite my achievements in the tech world, my heart increasingly pulled me toward the outdoors. The high-paced environment of Silicon Valley couldn’t compare to the fulfillment I found in the rugged wilderness, where the only deadlines were set by nature itself.

Inspired by my global travels—from the towering peaks of the Swiss Alps to the sweeping plains of South Africa—and influenced by literary works like "The Alchemist," I knew it was time for a significant shift. Leaving behind the boardrooms and corporate life, I began exploring North America’s most breathtaking landscapes, honing my skills as a guide and digital nomad. My unique background in business and technology equipped me to offer adventures that go beyond the ordinary, blending the thrill of off-road exploration with modern comforts and cutting-edge tools for an enhanced experience.

Buffalo Overland was born from this fusion of passions. Today, I guide travelers across the wild terrains of the U.S. and Canada, combining my leadership experience with a deep love for nature. Whether it’s navigating off-road trails or marveling at a starry night in the wilderness, each journey with Buffalo Overland is crafted to be memorable and transformative. I invite all adventurers to join me as we explore the untamed beauty of these landscapes, creating unforgettable experiences with the guidance of someone who has journeyed from the heights of Silicon Valley to the depths of the wilderness.
